SLI Bridge For ONE GPU?

Hello,
I'm thinking of adding an EVGA SLI bridge to my build just for looks but I have no idea if
I install the SLI on my EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC if the SLI will light up or is another GPU
necessary?
