    Answer ID 3473 | Published 03/11/2014 10:43 AM | Updated 03/13/2014 08:02 AM

After Release 340, any subsequent Windows driver release starting with Release 343 will cease to support the products listed in this section.

The Release 340 drivers will continue to support these products until April 1, 2016, and the NVIDIA support team will continue to address driver issues for these products in driver branches up to and including Release 340. However, future driver enhancements and optimizations in driver releases after Release 340 will not support these products.
Click on the above link for a list of the affected video card families for:
    • Quadro, Quadro FX/CX, and NVS Workstation Products
    • Tesla C, Quadro Plex Products
    • Quadro FX and NVS Notebook Products

    • GeForce 100/200/300/400 Series Desktop Products
    • GeForce 7/8/9 Series Notebook Products
    • GeForce 100/200/300 Series Notebook Product

Re: Nvidia Ending Driver Support for Legacy DX10 Video Cards

Thanks for posting this, first I've heard of this, but not even a week old yet.

Not surprising IMO, I was wondering when this would happen. Dropping a truckload of card models but it must be done at some point. Multiple factors here, not one thing to blame IMO.

I've got one card in this list, not that it bothers me at all. Reading the Nvidia forum posts about this might be amusing...

I guess this means I can go ahead and ****can the last 7 of 10 fanless 6600's I have left from my crunching days then huh?

I'll make darn sure on their way out she takes notice of me discarding them as her seeing them going out just might increase the WAF for what I have planned coming in. Shhhhh ....Oh Lord do not let her find out until they hit the door here.

A quick check shows that used 6600 video cards are selling for $20 - $40 each.

You can increase the WAF if you can sell some of them and market them as antique low tech paper weights.

Kinda sucks b/c my laptop w/ a GTS 350 that I received in early 2011 doesn't update anymore even when I hack the supported card list in the nv_disp.ini. It was bound to happen which is understandable but I was hoping not this soon.

I'm not familiar with laptops, but a driver search at Drivers | GeForce, using: Geforce 300M series (Notebooks), WIndows 7 64bit, English (US), All includes at the top of the list: Geforce 337.50 Driver - Beta (Apr 07, 2014) and Geforce 335.23 Driver - WHQL (Mar 10, 2014)

What am I missing or not understanding?

When I let their website's Auto-Detect feature run with my 7600 GT (dx9) video card in my P35-DS3L system it correctly reports:

Whenever I install NVIDIA drivers on my laptop, whether automatic or manually, I get the following error: Installer Cannot Continue – The Graphics Driver Could Not Find Compatible Graphics Hardware. I came across this solution here which stopped working with the current drivers that had already released.

                  Oh really!
Nvidia is discontinuing support on a product that was bought three years ago.
It looks like it's time to see if the squeaky wheel gets the grease by posting in the Nvidia offical forums.

Unfortunately yes. I bought the laptop in February 2011 online from the Windows store. If I remember correctly, this issue started happening with my laptop around April 2013.
