Re: First time build
It should be enough power and the board will do it with slots 2 and 4 NOT occupied. You will not be able to put anything else in 2 or 4 to get x16. I don't see why you can't do this. I'd like to see it when you finish. Sound like a good setup.P55-UD4P - i7860 - Patriot Inferno 120GB SSD - 1600Mhz Mushkin 7-8-7-20 - 3 WD 640GB Black

2 or 3 other systems I like to play with and a laptop

Re: First time build
Sounds good. I have a 550w PSU running a Core2Quad Q6700 3.15Ghz, 3-HDDs, 1-DVD RW, and the HAF 932 Full tower, which has 3-230mm fans, plus the cpu fan and a 140mm fan...oh and a 8600GT OC video card, so I think that 1200w PSU should do you fine...lol...I don't foresee any issues...hmmm...really wanna X4 PSU...hmmmm
ps. now that I think about it , I probably should upgrade my PSU...thanks for the inspirations now....Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
