Well, nVidia may be the best - but they're just about the ONLY ones in the market at the moment. ATI has only begun serious competition with their current offerings.

And if they're so good - why the need for new set of driver updates every 2 weeks?!

They won market share with the original Geforce, drove all competitors out of the market... and now pretty much dominate as a monopoly. If it were any other industry, nobody would like them so much. Look at the hatred towards Microsoft as an example.

Unless your dead set on keeping that card, I would definitely go for a Geforce 2/3. If for no other reason than the support.

Totally agreed. I still have my Voodoo 3 and was getting way above 30FPS in 1024x768x16 under 2k and XP. However, 3dfx has been gone for almost a year now, and it's time to move on to a more capable card.
It's better just to get a new graphics card, son. Move along, nothing to see here.
