How does the Gainward Gforce4 Ti4400 compare to other cards?

I am looking a buying a Gainward GF4 and when I was looking on newegg.com a lot of people were saying that the cards were defective when they got them. Is this a common trend with all Gainward cards or is this just coming from newegg.

Should I take my chances with the gainward or should I get another brand?:flames:

Gainward have quite a good reputation here in Australia, due to their conservative ratings for both GPU core and RAM. Their "Golden Sample" cards are exceptional, running well above default clock settings with no stability problem.

Most problems from GeForce based cards either come from AGP instability or heat. When I tested the Leadtek GeForce3 TD, touching the RAMSinks at default frequency was painful to the touch. A well ventilated case is essential for hot-running GeForce based cards.

Also, make sure that you run the latest AGP drivers for your motherboard chipset, be it from Intel, AMD, VIA, SiS, nVidia or ALi. This will boost speed and help eliminate any AGP incompatibilities :)

    Hope this helped

            Here. :)

And the version included with Windows XP is based off the 4.34 drivers... the latest 4.38a ones have the updated AGP component that improves stability and performance under Windows XP :)
