maybe im being obtuse, but what are you trying to say, bf2nut? what i take it as, is: the 7800gtx 512 is barely better than 7900gtx (tho you didnt actually say this directly) but there is a massive difference between the standard 7800gtx and the 7900gtx. is this what you tried to say?

I think we all agree on this but we're still talking about it for some reason. I'm aware of the Tweaktown article and that it was using a 7800GTX 256MB (an odd choice, but very characteristic of this site's articles). I was just clarifying Munkul's post.

called nvidia and they simply said they ran out of the memory to make the 7800gtx 512 models long ago and only had limited supplies being so expensive and not planning on selling nearly as much of 256 7800gtxs available.that would be why they compared that card because u simply cannot find a 7800gtx 512 anywere on teh planet :0,glad because at the time i was looking for 1 =0

no biggie my buddy has a 7800gtx 256 and i only score 800 more points then him :p so i guess i 7800gtx 512 model would be really dang close to 7900gtx :p
