After flashing X800GTO....

After flashing the X800GTO the tutorial says they get into windows and see the 16 pipes unlocked and then reboot their machine. How did they get out of DOS? I can't seem to get out of the the directory cd 16pipemod let alone DOS mode. All help is appreciated.

First off, you should not be in a DOS mode as this assumes you have tried to do this in a DOS window (i.e. the Command Prompt from the Start menu). You should NEVER perform any sort of hardware flashing in this mode... EVER! If it works, you should consider yourself very lucky and go buy a lottery ticket as this is an easy way to not only trash the Flash, but ruin the current version that is on the EEPROM of the hardware you're messing with.

If you have done this properly and used a boot disk to get into DOS and then performed the Flash, then you only need remove the floppy disk and reboot to enter Windows normally.
