  • AGP 2.0 questions

Ok, so is the new version (2.0) new or old technology? Is there anyway to tell just by looking?

I just got a Radeon 7000 video for my second (backup) pc that is running the MSI k266a-ru mobo and in the box it clearly states not to use version 1 agp cards cause it could cause damage to the board.

Will this Radeon work in this motherboard?

i only know the answer to the first question sorry.

AGP 2.0 supports 1x, 2x, 4x, and AGP 4.0 is out on the KT333 boards and it supports 8x. i think thats the way it goes...

Ok, thanks for the reply! I finally found the specs for all ATI cards.
Looks like I am good to go!

AGP 2.0 has been around for a bit now but the main thing that it really addressed was voltage and addressing considerations. Compliant AGP slots have dividers in them that will stop most non-compliant cards from being fitted in them. But you should not have any problems using that card with that motherboard. :smokin:
