My Emachines T3410 with windows xp and service pack 3 had problems booting up. After this problem was solved I no longer had sound or the icon. Device Manager lists SM BUS Controller and Multimedia Audio Controller marked in yellow. I'm a novice and don't know very much. Please advise.

you need to google for microsoft universal audio bus driver,download and install it and it should fix sound problems
