  • 12.90 vs 21.88 3dMark2001 Scores

Well, due to my previous motherboard chipset not really liking the new Detonator XP drivers, I had been sticking with the 12.90 series Dets from nVidia. With the new motherboard and a clock speed of 1400MHz, I scored a pretty nice 6502. This was nearly 450 points higher than I had scored on the same system with a KT133A chipset.

But then I decided to check out some new drivers since I had a better chipset. Went to the Guru of 3d site and downloaded the 21.88 drivers.

    WOW!

Let's just say that I was amazed at the difference I saw when the only change was a new set of drivers. I included a screen to show the difference. ;)

It wasn't the GeForce3 I was showing off... it was the huge 750 point gain in the scores. :)

Alright, my first post into the 3dMark scores:

The new drivers actually gave me a pretty good boost!

            System Highlights:
            Epox 8k7a+
            T'bird 1.4 @ 1.633 (11.5x142)
            GF2Pro @ 227/459

4109 with drivers that came with card (don't remember rev.)

            4404 with 23.11

            Not a bad gain

            Cheers
