  • Looking for conformation or better alternatives?

I have run the course on Corsair H50's, H60's and H100's AIO systems. They all are working with no issues once I got rid of the grinding pump(s) issue. However, the H100 with two Noctua NF-P12 PWM fans connected to the MB CPU fan controller limits the 3770K to 4.5 GHz since beyond that the CPU core temps start to go beyond 80 C when stress testing. I can't stand the way the Corsair fans act when connected to the H100 fan controller especially at boot time - want some peace and quiet. Anyway, I have a Corsair 800D case which will handle a 3X120 radiator configuration.

This is what I have been looking at:
Swiftech Apogee Drive II CPU water block and Pump
Swiftech MRES Micro Revision 2 reservoir
Swifttech MRC320 Quiet Power 3X120 mm radiator
    Three Noctua PF-12 fans
    Swiftech 8-way PWM connector
Clear Tubing 1/2" ID and 3/4 or 5/8" OD (Tygon 3603?)
Compression fittings for all of the above

This set up should be very quiet when the system is doing normal stuff since all the fans and pump are controlled by the MB CPU fan header. And...hopefully do a better job of cooling the 3770K beyond 4.5GHz when running a stress test.

What do you guys think? I know it's a lot of $$ to gain a few GHz but then it is a hobby!! Open to any and all suggestions before I jump into a custom cooling solution.

looks ok to me but im not a watercooling chap

even with high end watercooling idk how affective it is with the paste under the ihs on ivy/haswell???

if you could delid it successfully then that would be the best value option imo but that does carry a risk of killing your cpu should you do it wrong

@4.8ghz with mine delidded I don't go above 80c on air

Re: Looking for conformation or better alternatives?

So much for the Custom Water Cooling hype! I have the Swiftech Apogee II running with a 3X120 Quiet Radiator and 3XNoctua fans. The only improvement in temps compared to the AIO Corsair H100 when running Prime 95 on the 3770K @ 4.5 GHz is ~-2C on each core. On the plus side, the system is very quiet even under full load. Like I said above, it's a hobby.
