    guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows a rul of thumb on the wattage a radiator can cool. i found on 2 sites that a 360 could remove 100 to 300 watts of heat depending on fan speed. has anyone see anything else? that tells this??

if this is true then 1 120 single would be 33 to 100 and 240 rad would be 66 to 200. but would like to know if anyone knows anything different for sure???

What radiators were you looking at. There is a lot to think about when choosing a radiator, 1. Fin density, 2. rad thinkness 3. fan/fan speed 4. Water pressure.

See here . Scroll down to the graph and see what is needed for this rad to cool 300 watts of heat.

            Your welcome.

Good luck with it. Post some pics of it if you can when your all done or as your working it.

              Re: Need watercooling help

When it comes to fans and rads, ambient air and water temperature plays a HUGE role as well. There a boat load of factors involved, and it would probably take an engineering degree to sort them all out. Which is why there are a lot of disparity in the "facts".
Consider this, how effective do you think 30c air would be cooling 32c water? As compared to say 22c air? the cooler air will be more effective at cooling more "watts"

in the end, it comes down to experience which comes from trial and error. I really don't think you will find the "perfect" solution right off. Hell I'm still tweaking, and probably always will.

Using 100-300w is strictly a guideline. And even the chart from martinsliquidlab was simply a snapshot of what worked for him at that time in those particular situations.

As with any "troubleshooting": Change, Monitor/test, record.

And yes, send us pics of your setup! I would love to get feedback on what you have done.

              Syn.
