I've used toothpaste in a pinch before, worked fine for the time I used it!
So I always suggest that to users who run out but need some in a hurry while they order, but always advise when using to run stock default with fan at higher/highest speeds and keep an eye on temps.
TX-2 all the way here, I wish they made 30g tubes!! I usually end up buying a 30g tube of MX-2 instead because it's so cheap and I can't get TX-2 in a large bucket
