  • i7 + TRUE, high temps.

    Hello, I recently built my i7 computer and was looking for a great cooler for the i7 for OC-ing. I chose the Thermalright eXtreme 1366 RT or TRUE-1366 RT.

    The problem is the temp is somewhat high from what I see in reviews and way too high for me.

    it's between 35C - 35C while my room is 18C.

    I have a;

    Intel i7 920, D0 stepping, stock clocks.
    TRUE-120 1366 RT
    Gigabyte EX58-UD3R rev 1.6

    in an Antec Three Hundred with 3x120mm and a 1x140mm.

    Is this a normal idle temp?
    Under load it's around 60-68C

    Is there any EASY way to install a TRUE? It's a real mother most of the time, trying not to have it move around when I screw it in.

    Those are normal idle/load temperatures. Keep in mind that the i7 920 is a 130W TDP chip so it runs hotter than the other 45nm CPUs.
