  • Runcore Pro IV PATA ZIF 1.8 SSD FIRMWARE UPGRADE - HELP

    Hi

I recently purchased a Runcore Pro IV PATA ZIF 1.8 SSD the exact model is RCP-IV-Z1864-MC and want to install this in my dell insperonD430 with windows 7. I would like to upgrade the firmware so that garbage collection works with this and have read that I need to install firmware 1916. I have a few questions regarding this

    1) can I install first windows 7 and then upgrade the firmware inside windows 7 or do i have to buy a connector to connect it to my computers USB slot?

    2) I have seen few post suggesting that I might need to upgrade to firmware 1819 before upgrading to 1916, is this ture?

    3) what is the best way to upgrade the firmware to not cause any issues?

    thanks all

you can install win 7, then check the firmware with freeware tools out there. you may already be at the right firmware level. according to the instructions, you have to boot your system in dos then run the appropriate firmware updater from the matrix they provide. you have to use the right one for your PN.
