Hi,

judging by the pictures, it is impossible to properly mount an optical drive in the modular 5.25" cage without completely taking it off.

Is that right?

Hi Julian87,

You don't need to take off the 5.25" cage to mount an optical drive. The mounting system works the same as most of our most recent chassis. The front bezel and bay cover just need to be removed and then the optical drive can be just slid in. The modular cage is just there in case, a builder doesn't want to use any of the 5.25" bays.
