  • Z370P D3 4pin LED port

    hi.
can i connect a TL-C12C-S (5V 3pin) led fan ARGB to a Z370P D3 4pin 12V led strip port? i understand voltages and physics :) but i'm asking if there's a workaround. like a converter of any kind. i found stuff on amazon but none of them say it per-say "12v in 5v out" the closest i found was this: "CERRXIAN 12 Way ARGB Splitter 1 to 11 Ports 5V 3Pin RGB LED Splitter Hub with Double-Sided Adhesive (SATA)" (google it link is about 7 pages long..), but despite it saying 12v, it also says not compatible with 4pin.
isn't there some sort of old school 5.25" manual controller for this? or any simpler solution?
    thanks

No, you cannot directly connect a 5V 3-pin ARGB fan to a 12V 4-pin RGB header due to the voltage and pin differences. You need an ARGB controller or a voltage step-down converter to make this work.

Let me throw in what I have experienced before though not with GG MoBo then.

      A. Check if your power supply is enough. Yours is 500W, maybe you are using close to 500W and sometimes exceed that causing the SD? Reduce power usage over a day and see if it still shuts down.

      B. You mentioned RAM. If you have spare RAM, swap them and see.

      Good luck!

If you connect the fan to the strip port I don't think it works because it has different pins, if it plugs in it won't work. Try going to a store and ask if there is a place that sells that type and buy it.

See if your motherboard supports 5V ARGB control, even if it doesn't have a dedicated 5V port.

It says it can change the colors for RGB strips (probably fans too) connected to the RGB header. It's not referring to the LED lighting on the motherboard. KRNL
