Many Manufacturers made BIOS updates this year to address compatibility with features needed for W11. It looks like 2 updates on the subject MB were made this year.
Many years ago, I used many GB MB's because they were rock solid and often had features that were not always available with other Manufacturers. They seemed to have slipped in the quality of support especially manuals - I had to ask for manuals on my new Z890 - they only provided quick start and special options, and GC was 3 versions out of date for BIOS compared to accessing the website directly. They updated GC after I contacted them - but were still 1 version behind. 🤔

Be glad you got the updates!

The new BIOS update (F27) likely improves or adds functionality to the boot menu. While the specific changes aren't always detailed, updates like this can enhance user experience, fix bugs, or improve compatibility with newer hardware (like SSDs or USB devices).

You are correct, this is an interesting update from Gigabyte! Here's a breakdown of what we know and some potential reasons.

New BIOS Update for Old Motherboards:

Your GA-H110M-DS2 motherboard (revisions 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2) received a BIOS update (F27) in March 2024, six years after the last one.
The update description is unclear, citing only "Update bios boot menu function."

    GA-H110M-DS2 new BIOS update in 2024 ?

Hello all. I hope this question is in the proper topic. If not, please let me know where should I post instead.

I have an old GA-H110M-DS2 (rev. 1.0) board. I noticed, there has been a new BIOS update for it after 6 years(!):

    GA-H110M-DS2 (rev. 1.0/1.1/1.2) Support | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global

F27 5.32 MB Mar 26, 2024 "Update bios boot menu function"

Does anyone have any idea what this boot menu function is about, and why did Gigabyte release it for a practically long-time dead platform after the previous update was released in 2018 (6 years ago)?
There is a newer revision (rev 1.3) of this board, that has a release date of 2023 August. That is also something, I cannot understand, why Gigabyte released a Skylake-era motherboard in 2023?
