  • Z590 Gigabyte Aorus Ultra - persistent WHEA-Logger Event 17 PCI Express Warnings in event viewer

Has anyone come across this issue, I receive the following WHEA warnings in event viewer:

A corrected hardware error has occurred.

    Component: PCI Express Root Port
Error Source: Advanced Error Reporting (PCI Express)

    Primary Bus:Device:Function: 0x0:0x1:0x0
    Secondary Bus:Device:Function: 0x0:0x0:0x0
    Primary Device Name:PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1901&SUBSYS_50001458&REV_05
    Secondary Device Name:

This points back to the intel PCIe controller (x16) - 1901 which my GPU is populated with. It seems to happen most when running any ddr4 kit ram over 3500 but it does happen from time to time even below just does not cascade with warnings as much. I have tried multiple kits 3200, 4000 and 4400 all samsung b-die kits.

I assumed it may be ram instability as to why I tried a number of different verified kits but same issue persists regardless. And also there is no system instability at all either at higher speeds will not blue screen or any other issues of any kind other than the constant Event 17 warnings above that will cascade.

I am running a 10900KF in a Z590 Aorus Ultra board with a Strix 3090 and two gen3 Samsung nVME drives populating the bottom two m.2 slots. Bios version is F4d.

I'm starting to lean towards this must be a driver or board firmware issue as there is no instability at all or the board has some soft of fault.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yea I believe I had this issue also. HWINFO64 was reporting it as PCIE BUS ERRORS.. I have yet to try the beta bios posted on here somewhere.. board just seems to be buggy with CML
