I have two GIGABYTE GA-H97-Gaming 3 motherboards, both with F5 BIOS, which will not correctly start a RAID 5 array of 3 - 2 TB Samsung Model : HD203WI --- Firmware : 1AN10002.
I have moved the array onto 2 other Gigabyte motherboards with no issues. 1. GA-Z77X-UP5TH 2. GA-EP45-UDP3R
When powering up the GA-H97-Gaming 3 with the array installed the drives begin to "clatter", and make terrible noises. They will also trigger false SMART codes due to the "thrashing" the drives undergo at startup.
I do not know if it is just me or if this is an incompatibility issue with these drives in RAID 5 and the GA-H97-Gaming 3.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Uwanna
