Not sure if bellows pic is Haswell Refresh:

If it is, it has a lot more surface mounted stuff than Haswell, for sure. Well we'll see if a delid will be needed....it's no big deal but hopefully Intel has reduced the distance between the IHS and cpu.

Yikes. I saw some prices posted overseas and for some reason looks like the black edition boards cost more than the normal ones? I surely don't want any more garish yellow/gold heat sinks, especially since I have blue, black and white sleeving...but I don't see any reason to pay extra for toned down colors, either.

Yeah explains why Intel said Devils Canyon is "marketed" for 9 series chipset.
But still no problem for me. If I do buy a Z97 board I will certainly get the new K cpu.

K series CPU ( Devils Canyon) will works only with Z97.
    Other CPU...on both Z87 & Z97.
Yesterday,I also uploaded latest info (pic, video,BIOS sheet, etc) here:

So I sold my Z77 board in my backup rig, I will be putting my Z87 in the backup and buying either a Z97 or X99 depending on the $$. But I'm waiting to see what the Devils Canyon cpu is going to be like. Intel hasn't said exactly what they did to the new cpu's so we will have to wait and see or else someone will leak some details at some point.

    But as far as my UD5H/4770K, I have no problem making 4.9 @ 1.395 but I have chosen to run 4.7 @ 1.265 24/7.

Even if 4790K doesnt work with Z87 im still curious how much better if at all it will overclock,F10a for ud4h is the best bios yet for this board no problems so far....

I hear you. I personally have no plans to combine a Z87 board with the newer cpu's, but I'm curious how that will work out.

Oh joy, do we get another round of promised bios compatibility where two different cpu families are supposed to work perfectly with two different motherboard/chipset families?

And how long will it take the newest bios versions to mature, have all features working and be pretty much trouble free?

    Color me cynical.

Yeah my first 4770K would do [email protected] second one wouldnt do 4.6 regardless of volts, just bought one of ebay that does [email protected] temps are good at that voltage so i will stick with that for the time being and see what devils canyon brings.
