Re: About Intel Management Engine firmware

Sadly my method may not work with GB Z87 board, there are 2 ICC profiles in BIOS (even if the first is not used), and only one in the new ME FW 9.1 provided, so new ME FW doesn't match with BIOS settings and FITC return an error when loading the modded BIOS... i think i have to wait for another ME FW 9.1 binary with two profile...

I set all values as they where in original BIOS with ME 9.0.

It is strange, i have never built a Gigabyte BIOS in FITC, i tried with two different Z87 BIOSes now, and they won't build even if i just open them and build without changing anything, i get "BIOS Region: the specified region length is not big enough..."
Maximus BIOS builds just fine with both original and 9.1 modded.

virtualfred if you want, have a look at this 9.1 FW i built, it should have the exact same settings as the "z87xud4h_mod3_f8b" BIOS with 2 ICC profiles.

I always had this error with GB BIOS. Thanks for your ME FW, but how did you add the second profile ?

Thanks you too, but i don't see 5 config in Pacman's file, only 2 profiles

Re: About Intel Management Engine firmware

Hey guys I'm new around here and the PC world and I have a few questions.

                              1. So from my understanding, MEI is used for remote access and having some BIOS controls in the OS. Is there anything else?

                              2. Do regular users with internet browsing and gaming need to have this installed? What are the benefits of having this installed?

                              3. Is it ok to have the MEI driver installed but not the FW?

                              4. Windows update in 8.1 has MEI as a listed update even after I installed the MEI driver, what is the update installing?

                              5. Do I need to update MEI FW after every BIOS update?

                              Thank guys.

I also have a question: How to configure ME firmware of H61 chipset? (ASRock)
