  • GA-Z87X-UD3H won't post with more than 1 stick of RAM

    Hi all,

    My system config:
    Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H motherboard + BIOS F8
    Intel Core i7-4770K
    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB F3-2133C9D-16GXH

The memory is 2 x 8 GB sticks. When I install them in the 2nd and 4th slot from the CPU, the system does not boot (I get a code 15 and a boot loop).

When I put the sticks of ram right next to each other, the system boots properly. From what I understand, however, this is not the ideal configuration.

I have tested another memory pulled from a working system and can confirm it will NOT boot in slots 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 with the other ram.

Have tried another PSU on the same setup and still will not boot.

Reseated heatsink and checked for bent pins.

Currently no other peripherals are in the system. Just the mobo, CPU, memory. Have tested with and without PS/2 keyboard.

    Any suggestions? RMA the board?
