  • Ep45-UD3L help with powering off ?

Hi I have a EP45-UD3L mobo with E5200 oc'ed to 3550 .I have the latest F9 bios and all up to date drivers.I have a Audigy 2 sound card and Nvidia 7300gt video card. A I also have Z906 speakers which I hook up to my Audigy to the digital input, which is plugged to sub from Z906 digital output. I play it at 6 for an hour and twice now all of a sudden the computer turns off completely. I am wondering is it the subwoofer overheating ,the sound card getting hot,the power supply failing ,or other things .Any ideas? Thks

Have you run the windows Event Viewer to see if there is any information that might point to a problem?
What brand/model is your power supply? How old is your psu?
When was the last time you did a thorough cleaning of the inside of the computer case, fans, heatsinks, etc.?
Check to see that all of your hardware is fully seated in the slots and that all cables and wires are securely seated.
Check to see if your cpu heatsink is secure and isn't loose.
You can turn down the sub-woofer volume or disconnect the sub-woofer and play music to see if the problem goes away.

We need detailed information about ALL OF THE HARDWARE in your system.

We can best help you after you create a detailed hardware list in the System Specs portion of your

THks for the reply , I did a thorough cleaning 2 weeks ago inside and checked everything. All is good.Power supply is a few years old and can't remember the name, not a known name that is what i can tell you for sure.THat shutting off of the computer completely ONLY happens with that music on at 6-7 with digital input at sound card.I am thinking power supply , or sound card is faulty at digital input. What is the best way to get all my info together fast to give to you guys? Thks
