    Re: Gigabyte z77x up4 th & z77x up5 th Overclock/Settings Guide

just an update, added in an extra 8gb of Samsung green so 16gb in total

max speed I can do no matter what imc/vtt/dram voltages I tweak or the timings is just 2000mhz,has to be a bios limitation so if any bios engineers see this I would appreciate you looking into it

    my asus z68 v pro can run 16gb @2133mhz same ram/timings voltages

I know, but I saw a window to bust some chops so I took a stab at it. all in good fun.

Thanks a lot boondocks for the advice, as i said to Wazza i'm watching right now some videos of the delid method with the hairdryer and it seems very easy and i think i'll try it.

I know that some beta BIOSes got these problems but i didn't have any issue with this release (F11c), in particular with the Virtualfred's modded versions.
I remember a disastrous F11b done by Gigabyte that corrected it in few hours with the F11c.

Let us know if this release improve your nice OC with some extra megahertz @ the same VCore or less VCore for the actual clock!

    Cheers,

    KK

P.S.: Wazza wich method you advice for the delid of the CPU? Thanks in advance for your kindness and the time that you'll deserve to me.

Thanks Wazza for this update...I'll delid my 3770K and probably use the CL Pro and see what will be my gain in temperatures.

I see that you're using the latest official BIOS from Gigabyte, why don't you try this latest beta modded by Virtualfred?!

    GA-Z77X-UP4TH BIOS F11c mod3

    Modified with :

Intel Legacy RAID ROM 11.1.0.1413 to 13.1.0.2030
Intel UEFI SataDriver 11.6.0.1702 to 13.1.0.2030
    Marvell 88SE91xx SATA RAID 1.0.0.0027 to 1.0.1.0025
Realtek PCIe GBE Controller 2.50 to 2.58
    Realtek EFI UNDI 2.024
Intel PCI Accelerated SVGA 2137 PC 14.34 to 2170
    Sandy GOPdriver 2.0.1023 to 2.0.1024
    Ivy GOPdriver 3.0.1023 to 3.0.1027
CPU MicroCode Pack (with Sandy 6A728 and Ivy 6A919)
    ME Firmware 8.1.30.1350 to 8.1.51.1471
    Modified splash logo 2

    With my HW (Z77X UP4-TH, Core i5 2550K, 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1866Mhz C9) i've improved the OC...

    Have a nice day.

    Cheers,

    KK

P.S.: the "Marvell 88SE91xx SATA RAID 1.0.0.0027 to 1.0.1.0025" is a mistake of Virtualfred, it is only a typo or a copy/paste error, i'm sure because i've asked him.

Yep, I don't think there is any problem with CLP degrading at least in the short term, I haven't seen any changes on either of my delidded cpu's.

    Re: Gigabyte z77x up4 th & z77x up5 th Overclock/Settings Guide

that is usually fine on stock 1.8v,over 4.5ghz you can set it to 1.65v as it might help you use less cpu voltage and remain stable

you should be able to do 4.5ghz and maybe 4.6ghz with a decent clocking cpu and good cooler, try to keep core temps below 80-85c and cpu load voltage under 1.4v ideally around 1.3-1.35v
