For some crazy reason, after removing all power connectors to the MB and putting them back, the VGA has started to work in the 16x lane.
Yesterday I spent a full day in order to understand which was the problem. I also tried several firmwares and settings as well, at the end it was just... what? I am really confused, but glad that everything works as it should.

Since I loaded the last USB3.0 Driver from Gigabytes site, my USB2.0 Case ports lose connectivity at random. A Reboot brings them back. Scanning fr new hardware in device manager does not. I have no splats or errors there.

Maybe I found it, the Allow windows to turn off this device to save power was selected in the 4 - Generic USB Hubs in the list.

The thing is, how do I turn them on if I leave it selected.

I have unchecked them for now. Thanks.

My front USB 2.0 ports got wacked out sometime I noticed. When I plug my camera into the USB 3.0 ports the Windows program opens up to download pics, not so with the 2.0. I don't need them so it's no problem, but it still irks me. I disabled power saving on all the the 2.0 ports but the front ones don't work. Could be my cable, though since the rear ones work.

I see that Gigabyte has posted several driver updates for the GA-Z77X-UD5H MB. Before I update the Marvell SATA driver from 1.2.0.1027 to 1.2.0.1020 has anyone figured out why the newer driver has a lower release number?

Looks like 1027 and 1020 versions of the Marvell SATA driver are the same or at least the driver date and version number and date did not change in Device Manager.

                      HELP NEEDED

Hello, I've recently bought a new Gigabyte GA-z77x-UD3h motherboard, part of a complete upgrade of my old system, BIOS revision is F7 out of the box, an Intel Core i7-2700k processor, 8GB Corsair XMS3 CL9 RAM...and now I've got a problem.

I have a Windows task set up, to wake me up at a certain time during workdays, and start Winamp with a radio station in the playlist. On my old system it worked like a charm, now it's not waking up. I put the computer to sleep, and it doesn't wake up for the winamp task. Only after I touch the keyboard it does wake up. Power management settings inside BIOS are set up correctly, on first sight...so I'm clueless at the moment.

If no one can help me with this, I've got another question, the wakeup by alarm in the BIOS setup means waking the PC up from sleep only, right? I wouldn't want it to wake me up on weekends when I've shut it down completely the previous night...

                      Thanks alot for any help.

Thanks Ace, flash up to F17 solved my problem, or so it seems, I've created a test task, and this worked for now. We'll see if it wakes me up for work tomorrow as well

That leaves my second question, does my motherboard wake the computer from powered-off state, when the BIOS alarm clock is set too? Or is it just for sleep mode...you know, what if...

Third, if I'm not being too much of a pain in the ass, I'd love to hear some suggestions on how to set up some of the advanced features, from anyone who is reading this post (excluding OC, please, I'm perfectly fine with the performance and expected processor/mobo lifetime, lol:))...particularly I'm interested in an explanation on the following:

                          1. Boot options, Option #1 UEFI
                          2. Same screen, CSM Support, and then the options below stating UEFI
                          3. Intel Smart Connect
                          4. Intel Rapid Start (I've got an OCZ SSD System drive, but no small SSD in the mSATA port....)

                          Many thanks in advance :)

Glad to hear the bios update fixed your problem.

As for the motherboard powering on from off state via alarm. I believe that is what the function is for. If it works, I do not know. You would have to try it out and see.

As for the other things Not sure what you mean by 1. Boot options, Option #1 UEFI. Can you explain further? CSM can be left to default. Intel Smart connect and Intel Rapid Start, I would suggest setting these to disabled.
