Re: GZ-Z77X-UD5H Random freezing and shutdowns.

@neal It does not look like you are using the latest LinX or have the updated libraries installed and/or have SP1 installed. You should be seeing alot higher Gflops then 60.

This is the latest vesion with the update libraries of LinX. linx(0.64)_10.3.10.017.zip

Also you dont need to use Realtemp GT you only need to use Realtemp and then you wont have those to spare spaces for the other missing cores. GT is for 6c cpus. None GT is for 2/4c cpus.

Re: GZ-Z77X-UD5H Random freezing and shutdowns.

I made a thread on anandtech link.

Yesterday, I was able to fix these same issues by enabling the intel graphics adapter. Everything else is defaults. This stops the freezing and shutdowns. I used to get them constantly, like every few minutes.
After enabling the intel graphics, and installing the drivers (no cord, i don't even know if the drivers are important), I was stable for 14 hours. However, when i woke up this morning,
my system was off, so its not completely perfect.

      I hope this help someone.

Re: GZ-Z77X-UD5H Random freezing and shutdowns.

I got the same setup as most people here and running into the exact same freezing problems. It seems to be fairly random, but mostly when browsing the web or watching videos in VLC. I played games all day Saturday with zero issues but every other day it's ran into random lock ups a few times a day. Pretty darned frustrating. Initialy thought it was SSD, but happens with a mechanical drive as well (actually just happened when I was making this post a bit ago with my SSD unplugged....)

Will give the BLCK 100.10 setting a try and see if that works (even if Auto was putting it at 100.90ish). Haven't messed around with manual settings in years (no joke, talking late 90s haha) so hopefully it's all good. We'll see if it gives me any lockups while watching videos and browsing the internet today. If it looks good I'll reinstall my SSD.

NP just saying. A lot of people try to say there system is 100% stable when testing with LinX or IBT but come to find out they only test with 1gb of ram or less. When they test with ALL ram its another story. All other settings in the settings window can be left at default just have to change the amount of ram to test with.

Also since the release of SB cpus and newer cpus to take advantage of AVX instructions you need to use the latest version of both programs along with having SP1 installed other wise the cpu will not be stressed to the max either.

Nope after approximately an hour of video in VLC system froze up again even with BLCK at 100.10

Anyone have any suggestions to try or am I just SOL?

my longest is 14 hours of being stable. I did the following:

1.) Set Bios to optimized defaults.
2.) Set Ram Voltage to +.50. Instead of stock lets say 1.500 use 1.550.
3.) Activate internal intel graphics. Switch from auto to enabled and Install the drivers in windows.
4.) set pck clock to 100.1 instead of auto.
5.) Turn off c6/c3 in the cpu advanced features.

After hour 14, I went to the bathroom and bam, my system was off.

Well as I previously mentioned I got my old setup to work pretty good for over two days but I wasn't heavily watching videos or browsing the internet during that time, mostly just playing games. I think it's funny that the more system demanding activity isn't causing the problem and instead it's pretty non system intensive activities that are instead causing it to error out

I just flashed my BIOS up to F6. I left everything auto for now except I enabled the internal graphics, disabled on board audio, and installed all the latest and greatest drivers per the Gigabyte website. I left the BLCK to Auto for now. If it crashes again (going to play some more vids in VLC) I'll try setting it back to 100.10 again and and turn off c6/c3. I did have one question for the BLCK setting, is it supposed to be 100.01 or 100.10?

EDIT: Lasted about 20 minutes before I froze again. Getting pretty frustrated and wondering if it wouldn't be better to just return the board.

I tried 100.1 and was stable for a while (several hours). But still had shutdown issues.
I am going with 101 instead.

I've downloaded the latest LinX provided by members of this board, and I still can't shake the error. I've tried different settings in the BIOS to no avail. Plus, the Prime95 test failed within seconds. May have to go with an Asus board.

I've read that most people are going with ASUS P8Z77 PRO.

If you search the net you'll see Asus is having problems with Z77 as well. Things will smooth out after a while, a few people testing boards before they are released barely scratches the surface of potential problems.
But I understand being frustrated with problems with a brand new board, I've had them before and sure I will again. You gotta do what you need to do, maybe you'll get lucky on the next board.
