Re: GZ-Z77X-UD5H Random freezing and shutdowns.

I assume everybody uses the default advised port 0 (intel) has anybody tested the Gsata Marvel sata port to determine if the system
    also freezes up?

Just read the links (tks. Neal) fortunately Arock mb are also effect so it must indeed be something to do with the Intel z77 chip set and
Ivy Bridge processors or bugs in the Bios?

You would assume this problems should have surfaced whilst GB / Intel were testing the mb and chip set?

nb.: I'm using the following drivers

    Intel chip set 930120
    Intel RST 11101006
    Intel Mei 80101461
    Intel usb 3.0 104225
    EasyTune6 1204021

    ================================================== ================================================== ====

just e-mailed Gigabyte the Netherlands to relay my question to Taiwan in respect to the freeze in w7.

will keep you posted once I receive a reply.

Re: GZ-Z77X-UD5H Random freezing and shutdowns.

After 6 hrs. Windows 7 frooze again. (yesterday)

I have now de-activated the integr video chip and are only using my 560t1 vk, after having read some more on the
internet in respect to the possible cause of the W7 freeze.

will advise if W7 remains stable or freezes up again.

Re: GZ-Z77X-UD5H Random freezing and shutdowns.

I'm not having any freezes or lockups. Only problem I have is getting front USB 3.0 ports to recognize USB 2.0 devices.
I'm on beta BIOS F8A. Board is running x44 w/1.2v vcore, everything else on Auto or default settings. Latest everything installed driver wise.

Has the board been down? I couldn't get in at all most of yesterday/last night.

Yes if had the same problem, it seems the forum was down till a few minutes ago.

Apart from the bioses as kindly provided by Stasio, I also use the below German site.

Bios f8a is not recommended, unfortunately it does not state why.

For the time being I went back to the official F6 version.

with bios F6 I'm able to use my usb ocz stick on both the front Usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports.

Re: GZ-Z77X-UD5H Random freezing and shutdowns.

With F6 and integrated graphics on the i7-3770K it was working fine yesterday with all drivers installed except the USB3 1.0.3.214 driver.

Just loaded USB3 1.0.3.214 driver, plugged a tdk stick into rear USB3 port to play a video and the system locked up again. Now the random freezing and shutdowns are reoccuring.

I'll try reloading Win7 from scratch without the USB3 driver and see if I can get away with just using USB 2.

Same problems here with the freezings, thought it was software related, guess not!

Dave, I'm using F6 swithed off the interg video, but I'm using Intel Usb drivers 104225.

Download Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver 1.0.4.225 for Windows 7 Driver for Windows 7 / Windows 7 x64 - Softpedia

just plugged in my ocz 2.0 usb stick the blue rear usb port no problems at all.

perhaps you could first try these new drivers before re-installing W7.

I just tried the intel graphics only route -- was going so great, about 4 hours. then i messed up and rebooted and havn't been able to make it into Windows. Freezing in BIOS, w7 bootup, all over the place.

Just in case someone else reads this suggestion from another thread -- I played with disabling all power modes for the CPU, disabling turbo, locking the multiplier and vcore....still same issues.

My system seems to be running stable at this point. I've been on it for a half hour without it locking up, which is something of a miracle from my past experiences. I'm not willing to say that it has been solved just yet though. The one thing I did was up change the bclk from auto to 100.1. I remember seeing a post on some forum where a user was experiencing some instability on his UD5H and upping the bclk just a little bit seemed to work for him. Unfortunately, I can't find a link to it anymore. It's working so far on mine. We'll see if this a permanent fix or just a little bit of false hope.

I wanted to follow up on this. After setting the bclk to 100.1, I haven't experienced a single freeze up or hang. The memory is set to 1600 via xmp and all other settings are stock. Try changing the bclk and let me know if this works for you guys as well.

As for the front usb issue, I'm running the F6 bios and have no issues using a usb 2.0 stick in my case's front usb 3.0 ports.
