if you are still having issues with the system see if setting vcore to manual to whatever your stock VID is see if that helps. Also disable EIST see what that does(disabling EIST shouldn't disable turbo multipliers).

Also see if OCing your system to something like 4ghz or 4.2ghz with a low vcore and see if your still have BSODs.

also as for changing xHCI from smart auto to auto, that changes the Intel USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 for Windows XP, as windows Xp nor vista have Intel USB 3.0 support, thanks to Intel.

The system is fine with no USB driver, lots of lock ups with USB3 1.0.3.214 and system shuts down with 1.0.4.225 driver when idle for a while. I suppose the 1.0.4.220 driver will be some where in between so not worth bothering with.

I'll give sin0822's suggestions a try over the weekend.

I'm also having random system freezes (24 hours Prime95 AVX stable), really i dont know what to do, is all this caused by the USB3 driver ?.

Most people seem to have resolved their problems or else RMAed them. I can run the UD5H board fine as long as I don't load the USB3 driver i.e. I use the system with only USB2 ports available.

I'll try uninstalling the USB3 driver, hopefully it will prevent the random locks up.

Alas, you may have to do a fresh install of windows. When I tried to uninstall it by returning the system to an earlier Restore point, windows reloaded it on start up!

Well, i did format the PC when i installed the z77x + IB cpu, i really hope its the USB3 driver because my system was able to run prime95 27.7 (AVX) for almost 24 hours and no problems at all.

                    The following might help:
                    • From the mobo user manual: "Due to a Windows 7 limitation, please connect your USB device(s) to the USB 2.0/1.1 port(s) before the Intel USB 3.0 controller driver is installed."
                    • pages 56 - 57: Disable usb 3.0 and xHCI options in the bios
                    • disable unused hardware options, such as Gsata, etc.

Don't ask me what any of this means, I'm still in the P35 universe.

I don't think it's a driver issue. I got freezes in the BIOS before even any drivers load.

Just to deter anyone from being misled, I don't think that's an accurate overall generalization. As you clearly see from the majority of comments in this long thread, it's fundamentally the Base Clock issue and the need to manually set it at 100.1. I even upgraded to BIOS v7 (official, not beta) that got released May 11, which you'd think Gigabyte built to address these issues, but without manually setting the Base Clock to 100.1 away from the default setting, the same freezes recurred.

Again, USB is probably not the core problem. But clearly Gigabyte has a lot more work to do, and is so far unresponsive.
