Someone familiar with bios modding, pls help me to skip main bios checksum check. My EX58-UD5 rev 1.0 cannot work with main bios anymore, there's problem either in controller or in wires, but not in bios chip - already tried reflash, tried replace - absolutely same hang at writing main bios.. Board starts with backup bios, even can reflash it with QFlash - seems like it will be enough to boot OS and use board. But it can't get past Main bios checksum error in any case on any bios version. Recent ones hangs there, older ones reboots.

Pls, need to get this board back to life.

Hi Stasio, how are you? please can you inform me if the motherboard GA X79 UD3 rev 1.0 supports Xeon v2 with update for bios beta f21e or for bios modified? If it is possible I would like you to download this bios here, it is very important for me.

              Thank you!

The model I own is the Xeon 2680 v2, please if the bios f21e does not accept it you can modify the bios or add microcode to it?

                  Thank you !

Your CPUID for the Xeon E5-2680 v2 is 306E4, so BIOS F21e support.

                      Thanks for the explanations,

Can you make the bios f21e link available to you?

I wish you a good weekend for you and your family.

                        UP!

                        Hi Stasio, how are you?

I tested the F20 bios of the gigabyte site and the bios F21E downloaded by the forum anandtech, the GA x79 UD3 rev 1.0 with the Xeon 2680 v2 did not work, I would like you to send me the most updated version of the bios F21E you have there.

                        Thank you!

                            Hello, Stasio.

I am using the Xeon processor 2680 v2 final retail version manufactured in costa rica.

I tested the bios that you sent me and the computer turns on for 3 seconds and restarts, turns on for 3 seconds and restarts again without end.

I did not understand the reason the f21 bios did not work, you showed that it has the microcode of the Xeon 2680 v2 in thesis was to work.

I saw on the gigabyte website that the GA x79 ud3 rev 1.1 supports Xeon 2680 v2 from the bios f20, but I do not understand why it did not work on ga x79 ud3 rev 1.0, they are practically the same boards.

Please if you get a way and edit a bios especially for the Xeon 2680 v2, I will be very grateful.

                            Thank you Stasio!

I found that main difference with Rev.1.1 is the updated power supply IIRC stage on the board, which suit Xeon.
                              Btw,
for clarification ask GB technical support.

Hi Stasio, I already contacted the gigabyte support before speaking to you here and so far have not responded.

Ask me a question, does this difference in the IIRC between the motherboard rev 1.0 and 1.1 is at the software or hardware level?
