        OK: if you're the "expert":
Can you say whether or not any of the 9.xxx MEI firmware versions would be suitable for use with Z77 boards?
Or is version 8.1.30.1350 the latest version usable with Z77 boards?

I already give answer in post above.

The link you posted, there is clearly stated (not to be "expert")........... Firmware Version 9.0.1.1333 (1.5Mo)(Intel H87/Z87/H81).

As most Z87 boards will be initially flash with this firmware, I didn't upload in sticky thread.
          Btw,I got this firmware already 1 month+.

@ stasio ...if I where to ask for a modified p67a-d3-b3 ver 2 bios for the ver 1 board. would there be a risk of brinking the board?

                No,you won't brick the board.

Modded BIOS will flash OK,the only things is what is difference between ver.1 and 2?
Maybe you can look at p67a-ud3 difference with your board (Renesas chip.....cann't).
I think I already modded some arround 2 months ago.......you must check my posts.

                Btw,
do you have Ivy K version?

specs are the same but layout of components of rev 2 board is different for my board.

couldnt the bios for the P67A-D3-B3 rev 2 be modded for the rev 1 board.

there was a new uefi bios( faster boot) released in march for the rev 2 bios. but I never saw any modded version for my rev 1 board. only one I saw was from November and the rev 2 one is newer.

why same specs but they dont release same bios for both? even the bios updates where the same until they switch the rev 2 one to uefi.

gigabyte site doesnt always show me the rev 2 page. I sometimes have to google it to see it.

                        Modded BIOS P67A-D3-B3 rev.2 ==> rev.1........UA6

                        p67a-d3-b3_v2.x_ua6=v1.x.zip

                        Flash on your own risk.

Flash in DOS with bootable USB.
I hope you know how to kick Backup BIOS ,if something go wrong.
