  • Re: GIGABYTE Modified Bios

    I'm currently using this BIOS:

    GA-P67A-UD3P-B3 Bios F9 MOD
    Updated with...
    Intel RAID Rom: 11.1.0.1413
    Realtek Boot Rom: 2.46
    GA-P67A-UD3P-B3_F9_IR-11.1_RT-2.46
    And have this driver installed:

IntelĀ® Rapid Storage Technology 11.6.0.1030 WHQL
    I have 2 2TB HDD's in RAID1 mode.

Would it be any problems updating a to a F9 BIOS with "IntelĀ® RAID ROM 11.5.0.1582" instead of the one I have now? The RAID ROM won't "forget" the existing setup?

And the follow-up question, could someone modify the F9 BIOS so it includes:

    IntelĀ® RAID ROM 11.5.0.1582
    Realtek LAN ROM 2.50
Only relevant if it's safe to update the RAID ROM though. :)

I have EP45-DS3R. I'm trying to update AHCI from 1.07 to 1.20E. With 1.07 it takes extra 15 sec to boot in AHCI mode. This is fixed in 1.20E. I read "Lsdmeasap" user helped a user to mod his bios to 1.20E. So can someone help me with that? I'm trying to fix this problem for two years. I pm'd Lsdmeasap but last time he logged in is two months ago.

BTW F11e and F11i both have 1.20 AHCI rom already installed. Not sure what bios version you are still trying to use that has the old rom in it.

I have F10, i haven't updated to F11e because i read F11c had still 1.07 so i thought F11e might also have 1.07 that's why i haven't updated. Thanks to Gigabyte who skipped to note the most important part to the changelog!

So which one do you recommend, F11e or F11i?

            • Re: GIGABYTE Modified Bios

I always recommend the latest one. If you have trouble you can try the other one. Let me know which one you chose and I can update the older one with the newer roms.

As for adding the newer ahci rom to the older bios LSD has had better luck then me at doing that. Currently he is away from the forums doing a marathon long review session that has no end in sight. I can try to contact him via email but I would rather let him finish his work and get back to the forums.

So let me know what you want to do or how you make out.

I used F11i modded bios, ahci screen Is visibly faster but my wireless keyboard & mouse doesn't respond now. I'm stuck at Windows 8 start screen. I replugged the wireless transceiver and turned off and on both devices but no response, no "a device found" sound either. Batteries are fine. I can't also get into bios at start. Though I had enabled usb keyboard & mouse in bios and I was able to access bios that way numerous times before, I should've been able to use them now. I haven't cleared cmos so it can't be that. (As a proof to this my overclock is still in use. ) I think it doesn't also recognise my usb wlan adapter and firewire external disk so I think there's something wrong with bios's IO devices settings. I don't have a wired kb or mouse but I don't think it will help. And even if you fix bios how am I supposed to possibly install it?

I don't have one, I'll have to look for one, but do you think it will work? I feel like it won't work, but I guess I have no other choice but try. (I can't use ps2 using a usb-ps2 converter for wireless tranciever right? Tried, it didn't work...)

I have been trying to mod both the f9 bios and the new uefi bios for a p67a-ud3-b3 without any luck.

                            1. cbrom will remove the old raidrst5.bin from the bios, will keeps saying cannot find file when I try to add a newer 11.5.0.1582 raid rom (which I renamed raidrst5.bin). Can someone please mod same and post? (ftp://download.gigabyte.ru/bios/mb_b...-ud3-b3_f9.exe)

                            2. I was able to modify the latest U1a(UEFI BIOS) with AMI_Aptio_EFI_MMTool_v4.50.0.23, but I get checksum errors when flashing off a usb stick. does not want to flash. any ideas why? (ftp://download.gigabyte.ru/bios/mb_b...ud3-b3_u1a.exe)

A modified version of either of these with the latest 11.5 rst rom so trim works on my ssd raid-0 setup would be appreciated. If anyone has an idea of what I am doing wrong, please advise. thanks

Just checked mine , but strangely shows 11.6.0.1030 after flash . I know i was playing around with these a couple of weeks ago (unified rst / rste) But surely the new flash should overide ?
Anyway , i shall switch over to second bios because i have not touched that in months and flash that too.
