Right. I'm not running RAID atm so I will stick with 13.1.xx ROM I guess.

Thank you very much :) I have few questions, about bios update. Would be glad if you can answer me. After updating and restart pc, Windows loaded and I saw Balloon Notification about ''new driver was instaled'' or something similar. I check in device manager audio/network/sata drivers etc and they are was the same, which is normal. But network settings was changed. Is this normal and why after bios update, every time I seeing baloon notification, about devices drivers? What change bios update in Windows enviroment?

With f4a-kmod all 4 cores runs at 3.9 GHz.

First, why you want BIOS F4a ?...as BIOS F4 is out long time.

Second, which driver you have installed for Atheros Killer LAN?

I can't find F4 final in Gigabyte site, only F3 and F4a. I prefer ''final'' instead beta, but for long time I checking and f4 still is beta :) Btw, F3 bios is most stable bios for my mobo which I'm used. Before months I asked for f3 bios mod, but without success :D
Network driver is downloaded from Gigabyte site. All drivers, except video and audio drivers are downloaded from Gigabyte site.

After bios update these checkboxes was checked. That's it. Perhaps this is not problem...I don't know.

I prefer always latest drivers or BIOS and I am not "depend" to GB web page.
                            So,
why you ask mod BIOS, as is not per GB web page?.....latest ROM's with outdated drivers...??

                            Sample:
BigFoot LAN driver (Suite) on GB web page (for your board) is version 1.0.30.1259 and latest official driver (Suite) from Qualcomm Atheros is 1.1.47.1374.

                            - version 1.0.30.1259 = driver 8.0.2.38
                            - version 1.1.47.1374 = driver 8.1.0.23

I too prefer latest drivers, but not always the newest is better. For example last killer network manager. If not uncheck 'bandwidth control', I can't connect to internet. And ask for moded bios, only for turbo boost, nothing else.

When load optimized default in bios, vcore on my i7 4771 is 1.094. Is this means, that I can set manual vcore 1.094v and this voltage is normal working voltage for my processor? I ask, because when run software which support AVX, vcore up to 1.20 and temps is little high. If set voltage to 1.094, i'm sure the temps will drop.

That is true, I agree. I could list several different drivers where the new version had problems.

Mother board manufactures may not update the driver download page for their boards, and people complain about that. The manufactures don't do that because they have not tested the driver enough (or at all) and don't want users that do not have enough experience with PCs unhappy and requesting an RMA when it is only a driver problem.

That voltage will be close to the normal working voltage of your processor. The question is do we really know what speed the processor is running at when in the BIOS (standard or Turbo at stock/Auto CPU clock) and how many cores and threads are being used. In the past it was said that only one core was being used when in the BIOS, since the OS (Windows, etc) assigns processes to cores and threads. Is that still true for UEFI firmware? I'm not sure.

My point is 1.094V might not be enough when all the cores are running, and for Turbo boost, but you won't need much more voltage.

Welcome to the world of Haswell processors, Adaptive Voltage, and AVX!

If your CPU voltage type is set to Auto, you will be using Adaptive voltage, which changes with the load on the CPU. When using Adaptive voltage, AVX instructions in software cause the CPU voltage to increase even more than any other type of load. That is normal for any Haswell processor.

You can test using a manual voltage with an AVX test and see what happens. If it fails the test, you will need to increase the manual voltage. But how much if any software besides tests use AVX instructions? Not many if any at all, so the AVX test may not matter in real world use.
