Is there anyway to update the marvel 88E1118R eth reciever on the g1 assassin2 mother board, surely there must be a way? Updating that might solve a lot of issues with bigfoot nic

I don't find any other ROM for BigFoot, don't know if it can help but are you using the lastest driver 6.1.0.440 from Killer ?

Another module that could be deleted: Atheros ethernet. There are provided 2 Atheros ethernet firmwares, due to the 2 motherboard versions (1.0 & 1.1). The 1.1 version motherboard includes an updated version Atheros ethernet controller chip. So instead of combining both firmware versions (as provided by Gigabyte), one could instead create 2 different bios versions for the 2 different board versions.

                        thx but already know that.
I find that all legacy oproms can be deleted exept intel vga bios if we dont have discrete vga.
then core dxe can be compresed and i get 1.5 mb free whats just enough for my ozmosis mod.

                            yes thats right.
But it has a little trick that u need to extract it uncompressed not as is since its compressed but with without compression(like store option in 7-zip).
                            look at this picture.

                              Hello,

I am trying to update my GA-Z87-D3HP, but I am a bit lost with all this.
I have a modified BIOS provided my virtualfred, and the ME Firmware as said in the post, but I see there is a LAN GBE Firmware too, does this work with my board?

If someone could tell me exactly what I can updaten that would be nice.

                              Thanks!

Hi everyone. New member as of today 9/2/2013. I haven't flashed a BIOS mod for at least 10 years, so I'm out of the loop.
So many posts about MEI as far as embedded code in the BIOS, and also as a firmware update. I thought MEI was software only, without the need for BIOS or FW. Here is the output of my running MEInfoWin64.exe:

Why all the MEI fuss with embedded code or FW updates when you can simply run software?

                                Best Regards, namitutonka
