Which boards create host protected areas?

Specifically, does the GA-G1975X do this? (the original one, with the funky fan tunnels, or, as I call it, Moonbase Alpha, not the -C revision without the fans)

And/or does the GA-M61PME-S2P do this?

and if either one does, how can I permanently disable its ability to do so?
