    Hi profJim,

I did post the screenie of cpuz,tunner,cpuz-spd,memset at post #43. I will add the core temp here. I think i have added most of my hardware list at my signature...

I will try changing the system memory multiplier now and see how it goes.

If you use 2.1 Dram, higher MCH is needed, meaning, Dram cannot exceed MCH by much, not more than 0.7-0.8V... but it can't be too low. for reasons only the chipset knows.

You keep seeing the red message bacuse you didn't load the optimised defaults, and then set all voltages to normal. If you touch a voltage it affects everything, especially the Termination, all references are connected to it. I think the motherboard doesn't like the 1.05V MCH core, and 2.1 memory combination much, in fact anything more than 2.02 V should be avoided, because it is a 65nm chip (and you probably know what 1.75 memory does to a 45nm chipset, it kills it). similar forces in work here.

Yay.. thx yuu for the info about the dram and mch volt..
I go to m.i.t bios settings, load optimized default then reboot
Back to m.i.t and change the settings as below where i put mch core to = 1.200v and DRAM voltage to = 2.00v, the timings and advance timing for the RAM is auto but the value is the same as what i want them to be which is 5-5-5-15 and the advance timings as well to 4-4-12-68-4-2, after i reboot.. i didn't get the red warning message

yuu is correct, loading Optimized Bios Defaults must be loaded before you initially start to make any bios changes.
The following settings must NOT be changed manually unless you know exactly what these settings do.

          Advanced Clock Control [Press Enter]
          CPU Clock Drive...........................:
          PCI Express Clock Drive.................:
          CPU Clock Skew (ps)....................:
          MCH Clock Skew (ps)...................:

After you've loaded optimized settings, save the settings and exit.
Re-enter the bios and make any necessary changes, then save settings and exit.
You might need to perform these steps with only one memory module installed.
After you have made the required bios changes, add the second memory module.

          Good luck.

Good, now you'll see that when you add +0.02V in small stepps to Dram. at some point it will give the red message, then you add +0.02 to MCH Core, the 0.7-0.8V difference is not exact science. You can try lower MCh Core in small steps -0.02 V now, and at some point it will show the msg. that's it, you go one step back +0.02. This is something i remember having experienced with my board.

              One quick question,

I realize that there's a new bios for ep-45-ds3 mobo which is f10d. I am using f9 now, i also read the qflash guide that tweaktown provide. Is updating bios effect if i am going to overclock my system?

Ok.. I am planning to overclock my system as the RAM that i just install cry for OC.

I am trying to get new cases which i already decided on ANtec 300, however i still can't decide on the cpu cooler. I am currently interested on Coolermaster V8 or COOLIT DOMINO A.L.C. Water Cooling Kit. Can someone familiar with these products advice me please?

                Thanks

I have 8500 Reaper and I will recommend that you don't get them. I regret getting them, it seemed like a good idea at the time but they aren't that great from an overclocking point of view. They are terrible for heatsink compatibility which is what really makes me regret getting them. Many larger heatsinks will not fit with them so you would have to forget many of the better heatsinks.

I did read the bios qflash guide, it said that don't update if there's no problem with your system as flashing bios is risky.. I just want to ask if it's worth to update my f9 bios to f10d??

Btw RedDwarf, well the thread title seems to be OCZ Reaper however due to there's no more OCZ Reaper stock at the online shop that i am buying from. I change it to G.Skill PC28500/1066Mhz :D

That is a general warning for people that don't know what they are doing, ect. I had to put warnings ya know :)

I would go ahead and update if it was me, I always update to the latest

There is no real reason NOT to update the BIOS, but it's a good idea to go with the latest even tho it's a beta cos things have been tweaked and added to make things better. Just don't use @BIOS to do it. If you update the BIOS use Qflash to do it. I think you will be pretty safe using the G-Skill 8500 get the 2x2gig kit I have a EP45 board and it runs a treat.
