    Hi!!

I'm about to upgrade my computer to this motherboard GA-EX58-UD5, X58. However I wan't to keep old ram "OCZ nVIDIA SLI DDR3 1800MHz PC-14400" I have 8gb total of them. Will It be possible to run with this ram on this motherboard??

    Thank You

The ram needs 1.9v will the motherboard support that also??

yes but dont forget that the memory controller is inside the cpu on i7 chips so i dont know how much qpi voltage you will need to run them, you can buy dual channel kits which are 1.65 or 1.5v for i7 systems there cheaper than triple channel kits, but yeah you can raise the dram voltage to 1.9v in the bios

          Re: Ga-ex58-ud5, x58

Intel says RAM voltage should not be more than 0.5 volts from QPI voltage. If you are going to use this RAM you will need to set QPI to at least 1.4 volts, which is above Intel spec. Otherwise it could fry the memory controller on the CPU. I would recommend getting other RAM designed for i7 rated at 1.65 volts or less.

You can possibly use this, but you will have to do as instructed above. It may or may not be compatible though, aside from the above mentioned issues.

If you do use it and it works, I would suggest using it at a much lower voltage like maybe 1.7 or so, that way you do not have too much Vdimm going through your CPU and or too much QPI/Vtt
