  • X58-UD7 loud 'pop' sound on start up and shut down

    Hi,

Got my new system up and running, yay!

One slight thing thats starting to drive me nuts, everytime the system boots up or shuts down my speakers make a loud 'pop' sound. I would image it would coincide with when the drivers are being innitialised etc. I have downloaded the latest drivers from the Gigabyte site but they haven't made a difference.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can resolve this?

Re: X58-UD7 loud 'pop' sound on start up and shut down

It's not when it turns on or off but during the booting up/shutting down phase. I'd say 2/3 into the boot, when the drivers were innitialing (I think I spelt that wrong). I know that the Realtek drivers on the Gigabyte site aren't the newest but I'm not sure which ones are the right ones on the Realtek site. Does anyone know and I'll see if updating the drivers helps

R2.45 can be downloaded here, it is the latest.

            Realtek

Download any of these, you may need to try each box (1 GO, 2 GO, 3 GO) before you get a download to start

This may not help with your issue though, did you try disabling speedstep as mentioned above? What PSU are you using?
