  • Help Oc'ing a GA-EP45-DS3R

    Hello,

Here is an oldie, but goodie.

    My System:
    MOBO: GA-EP45-DS3R (Bios v F10)
    CPU: Q9450 @ 2.66
    RAM: 4GB OCZ DDR2 @ 1066 (2x2Gb)
    GPU: ATI HD4870
CPU Cooler: Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler
Power: Cooler MAster Real Power Pro 850w
    Chassis: Cooler MAster CM690
    OS: Windows Vista 32 bit

I have been running stable for about 1 1/12 years now (thanks to ldsmeasap). I would like to OC to about 3 to 3.2.

I am running Real temp 3.58 and getting 39-33 temps across all four cores at idle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance.

Read this post for suggested manual stock settings (apart those you already changed).
Also follow steps 1, and 4, for additional information taht will help.

Was the 150ps MCH Clock skew nesessary for stanility at 333MHz FSB?

      Chike,

      Thanks.

I believe the 150ps MCH Clock skew was necessary for stablity (chech your spelling) because I was using 2x2GB @ 2.0 volts.

I don't think you needed the MCH Skew at 333 FSB really, but you might have?

        Try this for 3.2

          Thanks guys.

          LSD,

          I'll try your settings.

However, I already took the pics from Easy Tune, Memset, Core Temp, and CPU-Z. Do I add them as images or as attachments in here?

          Thanks again

            Re: Help Oc'ing a GA-EP45-DS3R

You can attach images if they are small enough or use a media sharing service like TinyPic, ImageShack, or Photobucket, and post their links.

It would be easier to upload them somewhere, as opposed to attaching them here because you can only attach one image at a time.

Upload them to imageshack or tinypic, then put them here in image tags like shown below

I just wanted to thank you guys.

I finally got around to doing this. My machine is now running @ 3.2 and the core temps max out @ 49-50c. If I want to push alittle more, is the CPU Vcore the only number I need to raie? or are their correlations between this and the MCH and ICH cores? Is there a good guide somewhere about overclocking that I should read?

                Thanks Again

                  Re: Help Oc'ing a GA-EP45-DS3R

If 50c is Prime95 max core temp you have plenty to go.
How do you want to push it, multiplier or FSB?
                  Please post full settings.

                    Re: Help Oc'ing a GA-EP45-DS3R

There is tons of guides out there, just google P45 overclocking guide and you should find plenty.

If you want us to help let us know your current settings you are trying, and what speed you want to shoot for. It really depends on how far you want to go as to what settings you will need to change.

Nice to see you are stable now though!
