    Re: No luck OC'ing EP45-UD3R w/ E6550

    Oops yes, CPU Host Frequency is 333 and I set CPU PLL to 1.500v.

    One question I have is when I select the System Memory Multiplier the right side of the screen says:

    x.xxA -> FSB 266MHz
    x.xxB -> FSB 333MHz
    x.xxC -> FSB 200MHz
    x.xxD -> FSB 400MHz

    Can someone clarify what this means? Are these requirements or just a guide?

    I set the CPU Host Freq to 350, which raised my ram to 1120 so I changed the Memory Multiplier to 2.66D. This put the memory frequency to 993 instead of 1066.

    System booted into Windows at 2.45GHz.

      It's more a guide, most time the multipliers will work for their strap but sometimes not. Other times you may have better results with different strap multipliers.

      I'd go all the way to 400FSB. It may require a bit more VTT and MCH, and ofcourse more vcore.

        Which one is VTT?

          VTT = CPU Termination

            I'm currently up to 2.73GHz (390fsb) on stock settings. I ran at 2.62Ghz (375fsb) all day yesterday playing MW2.

            It seems like the next 10MHz of FSB is where I start running into trouble on stock settings.

              At least you are getting started.
              Post full settings when you need advice.

                Stock voltages can only take you so far, do not use Auto when overclocking.

                Once you get going, as said above, give us your full settings when you run into issues and let us know what you are trying to reach, then we can advise back

                  Re: No luck OC'ing EP45-UD3R w/ E6550

                  2.76GHz (395MHz fsb) is as high as I can go with my "base" settings.

                  To get to 400 I've bumped up:
                  CPU Vcore to 1.38750V
                  CPU Termination to 1.4
                  CPU PLL to 1.570V
                  MCH Core to 1.360V

                  But I still get that soft reset. I really just don't know how high these various settings can go. Any suggestions?

                    What settings are you unsure about?

                    Double or even triple false start is normal when overclocked, if that is what you meant by soft reset.
