  • Gigabyte sata2 - disk missing

    Hi again
I have new problem wtih my GA-MA790FXT-UD5P or Windows 7 64bit.
I have made an jbod configuration of two samsung 1tb disks in Smart backup in bios. I can see and access the disk in windows but after a couple of hours the disk disappear. Only this "jbod" disk disappear and this is the only disk(s) I have on the Gigabyte sata2 controller. The disk also disappear from Device Manager. After I have restarted windows the disk can be found again.
Is it a mobo problem or a windows problem?
Can it be some Power saver function in windows?
Can it be a bios setting?
I have changed the powersaving setting in control panel for disks but still it will disappear after some time. I'm never at my computer when this happens!

    Please help me:)

    ------------------------------------------------------------

    Mobo settings (Integrated peripherals):
    Onchip IDE Channel: Disabled
    Onchip SATA type: AHCI
Onchip SATA Port4/5 type: As SATA type
    Onboard SATA/IDE device: Enabled
    Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl mode: AHCI

Windows fix: I did a windows register fix to get AHCI support and then I installed AMD AHCI drivers. If I didn't do this fix windows would not boot.

    Gigabyte MOBO bios: F8C
    Gigabyte SATA bios: 1.06.59
    AMD SATA bios: 3.0.1540.59
