  • I7 on X58A-UD7 help

    Hey
This build is working better than the other one which I'm still trying to fix.
I want the i7 to be around 4GHZ+
The current settings I'm using atm are below, there's a lot of new setting which i'm not familar with since it a load of new settings, which is also why most of them are on 'Auto'
The below settings work on normal use (been on for 25hrs) but fails prime after 5hours however I could fix the problem by increasing the Vcore but I'm not sure whether other voltages could improve the stability.

you wanna try setting performance enhance to standard and set qpi voltage to 1.35000 and test with prime95 blend test if blue screen raise qpi a little....auto will always over volt

If you get BSOD's this may help

BSOD Error codes and what they mean:
0X00000050 << Incorrect Memory Timing/Freq or Uncore Multi
        0X00000124 << Incorrect QPI/Vtt Voltage (To Much/Not Enough)
0X00000101 << Not enough Vcore Voltage

If you need more help please give us your full specs and a link to your ram, template to do so is in my signature

              Re: I7 on X58A-UD7 help

The BIOS code which I got wasn't the one you stated however some were but I raised the Vcore abit and another code was prompt.

I'll post the code when I used the settings above.

Also isn't it recommended to have QPI/VTT at 1.35 max?

                  Re: I7 on X58A-UD7 help

Prime ran for 2hr before getting the BSoD. Code was 0x0000003b..
So I'm guessing this is related to RAM/driver problem?

Raising the Vcore don't seem to be the problem since I raised it a bit more to test and it BSoD a bit quicker.

Could be a driver, was one mentioned on the screen like Nvidia or ATI Related?

Which Uncore Multi was you using? If x16, try x18 and more QPI/Vtt

                      Re: I7 on X58A-UD7 help

                      I'm sure its 18x.
Can't really remember (using nvidia gpu though) but I did some changes which I'll post later. And its running prime 7hrs and going.

On the 'Load Line Calibration' settings its fine to leave is as disabled or would you suggest 'level 1' or 'level 2' (there's no enable).
This is because when I set it to 'level 2' it got BSoD sooner than on disable probably due to Vdrop.

                        Re: I7 on X58A-UD7 help

Then you may want to test x16 or x17, or try voltage adjustments to keep using x18

Sorry about LLC, I would suggest Level 1, level 2 increases Vcore under load and Level 1 acts like older LLC control where it just keeps the droop to a minimum

                          Re: I7 on X58A-UD7 help

                          BSoD after 12hours.
I'll try tweaking the voltages again after I've changed LLC to level 1.

Seeing as I used to use 1.35 Vcore with LLC disabled, would that mean I could use less Vcore if LLC is enabled due to less Vdroop?

Edit: Changed Vcore from 1.35 to 1.325 and changed LLC to level 1 and prime been running 19hours.

Yes, you could possibly use less, but since you are still having issues you may need more anyway though, so I would leave it for now.

Ohh sorry, I read as a reply! Looks like it was fine lower then eh, nice to see you got it stable for now! Keep tweaking, and good luck.
