• Old Gig M/B not working with RAM upgrade.

Resurrecting an old PC (in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Turkey) with some bits I had lying around in the UK (all proved working bits, including the old PC I started from)

Changed MB from 8S651MP-RZ to the GA-8IPE1000MK. Installed (in A & B channels) the 2x 1GB RAM which was previously tested in the 8S651MP-RZ setup, on power up MB alarmed. Removed the RAM and replaced with 256MB (333MHz) and everything OK.
So why wont it accept 2x 1GB which I know work from the previous MB, also tried them 1 GB at a time but still alarm.
So in short, all is working fine with with 256Mb (333) Ram, but not 2 x 1 GB (333), MB specs say it takes up to 4 GB (in 4 slots), any ideas?
Please dont say buy a real PC cos its in the UK!

Many thanks for you help TIM
Also put 2 x 512(333) borrowed from a freind in to try and it works.
