Hot swapping with GA-MA78GM-S2H

I can't seem to get sata drives to show up with the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in vista. I've set the sata type to AHCI in the bios and installed vistax64. I then installed the latest drivers from the gigabyte site.

Is there something I have missed? has anyone else gotten it to work?
