1.5tb Seagate HD won't work on 965p-s3's jmicron sata adapter

Hey all,

I have a Gigabyte 965p-s3 motherboard with f13 bios and it worked for my 400gb WD hard drive on the jmicron sata (purple) connector. Recently, I brought the new 1.5tb Seagate ST31500341AS Hard drive and when I plugged it into the purple connector, the computer won't detect it. But when I connected to the ich8 (yellow) connector, it detects and works fine. I know there are firmware issues with this hard drive as it is using the old SD17 firmware. In any case, I was wondering if people have the same issues as me. Thanks.

Not many users using 965 boards anymore so you wont likely get many comments.

I am not sure of what the specs would be for that controller but sounds like it just is not going to work with that drive. You will just have to keep it on the Intel Controller
