  • dpc latency ep43 ds3l

i was playing a video and i noticed stuttering and i found it was caused by gsvr.exe which is part of gigabyte's energy saver program.

what made this apparant to me was dpc latency checker

when i run this program on a older pc it doesn't hiccup but on my new pc

    gigabyte ds3l ep43
    nvidia 9800gt latest drivers
creative labs zs gamer latest drivers
    dlink dwl-142 usb 802.11n

i did install the latest intel chipset drivers (not from gigabytes site) and storage drivers i am currently in ahci mode but legacy and native do it as well

the dpc latency runs into the orange and red. i disabled everything card short of video and the dpc latency still jumps even when only opening internet explorer with a blank homepage and when i mouse over the underlined text ads on this site for vibrant (many other things will cause my dpc latency to spike but those same things don't do it on a older amd pc

what is causing my dpc latency to spike into the red? anyone else run dpc latency checker and was able decrease your dpc latency so it at least doesnt spike into the red.

Got same issue in the past. Switching to 64-bit from 32-bit Vista cured the problem.

you said swtiching to 64 bit solved it for vista but have you tried xp on your system?

also i am afraid to switch to 64 bit because of app compatiblity

No, I did not tried any XP, started with 32-bit Vista straight and got huge yellow and red spikes like you.
Switched to 64-bit Vista and fixed the issue. I did not found much problem with 64-bit drivers, almost on Vista.
Coincidentally, at the same time I switched to 64-bit, I also changed HD to Samsung from Seagate but, I think, that was just coincidence.

did you install intel chipset drivers for either the 32 bit install or 64 bit install? also do you use ahci mode or no?

              Re: dpc latency ep43 ds3l

when i disable in the bios cpu eist function it does stop the latency that is easily recreatable ie. opening internet explorer but there still is other dpc latency.

my old amd processors never had dpc latency from enabling cool and quite

Please read my signature, I am on RAID0 (that includes AHCI, automatically) and yes, I am using 64-bit Intel chipset drivers.
