  • lowing multiplier Q6600

    at the moment i have my ga p35 ds3p and q6600 running at 3ghz with
    fsb 333

    i was wondering if it wouls be possible worth doing and could be made stable
    to run the fsb @ 400 drop the multiplier to x8

    Sure would! Many do it just like that, use 401 not 400 exact though

      why the 401 may i ask? does this apply to all GB boards?

        Ya, 400 is right on a strap line and can cause issue, not always. Just best to use right above or below it so you dont have instability issues and think it is something else

          would cpu Eist and C1E work correctly with a lower multiplier


          is there any downside to clocking it this way ?

            Yes, they would work still. You would not want to enable them though since you are overclocking, it will make your overclock very unstable

              do you mean while i am setting it up and getting it stable or forever mate ?


              i have them both working now on the clock i have now and it seems fine
              333x9
