x570 Aorus Master on F33A + 3900x + rtx3080

So by having CSM disabled and Above 4G Decoding enabled there is videocard performance drop. It is very noticeable with Vulkan games (tested Serious Sam 4, Doom 2016) for up to 50% fps loss. GPU usage stays around 40-50% too. DirectX games suffer from frequent stutters but don't lose that much fps.

I tried different drivers for videocard and it made no difference so it's not that. I know there is still no support for Resize Bar on Nvidia card but "Above 4G Decoding" option alone should not lead to this drastic performance loss.
With a little Google-Fu I found that certain MSI motherboards on B450 chipset suffered from same issue with "Above 4G Decoding" option - here's the thread - I experience same results as in opening post. In the post it says they had Vega 56 card so it is not videocard's fault. Also in that forum thread they discuss that options "MMIOH Base" and "MMIO High Size" should resolve the issue but I couldn't find anything resembling in my BIOS (or maybe they are called different, I don't know)

Can this be fixed? Is there anything I can provide to help identifying cause of issue?

I have noticed exactly the same results as you using a X570 Pro or Ultra with a 5900x and a 5700 XT. I also have a X570 Hero and that does not have the same issue and doesn’t care is above 4G is enabled or not. I hope this is something that will be fixed ASAP as it’s a pain for us Hackintoshers.

hi there. tried F10 , F11 , F12 bios for B550 Aorus Elite V1 , seems everything works fine. There was a problem with Realtek 2.5G on F10 and F11beta. Now is seems to be gone. Maybe because of F11, F12 bios or new driver 10.046 or because i disabled almost every option in adapter properties. But thats not my question. It is about XMP profile. So i got 5600x + b550 aorus elite + HX436C17PB4AK2/16 (exists in Gigabyte Memory Support List). So memory has XMP at 3600mhz 17-19-19-39-85, but when i choose it, it works at 3600mhz 18-19-19-39-83. Is there any problem ? or just because XMP is an Intel feature and it doesn't work correctly on AMD platform. Should i set XMP timings manualy ? That issue presents on each version of BIOS.

Ok this feels like an AGESA bug... I have to amend my previous results. I can run everything EXCEPT 1900 FLCK.

Wtf! I now have the RAM running 3866MHz @ 1.5V and:
VSOC 1.1V
VDDG CCD 1.1V
VDDG IOD 1.1V

...running perfect. I feel like those voltages could probably be lower too.
No WHEA or other errors, 45min into Karhu and so far so good, this is crazy!

What's wrong with 1900 FCLK?

Edit: this did eventually crash in Prime95, although suspect the CCD voltage was too high. Since reduced it to 940mv and retesting.

What's wrong with 1900 FCLK?

Yeap, it's somewhat of a known issue and I wouldn't be surprised if you can actually go even further (probably with WHEA errors though). For some reason FCLK 1900 seems to be off-limits to some dual-rank kits.

I haven't tightened any of the timings yet, but here's what it looks like while under-load in Karhu.
4 single rank sticks just a hair over the stock XMP profile of 3800.

in BIOS

VSOC: 1.1V
VDDG CCD 900mV
VDDG IOD: 1050mV

There are no WHEA errors here but still crashes in Prime95 (black screen, reboot, no BSOD)

tried f33A and could boot 2000fclk and run through windows just fine with soc at 1.2v, could even make it through GB3 and 5, but would get 200 or more errors, went back to f31 bios as it seems perfectly fine at 1900

Maybe in the default xmp the flag for geardown mode isn't set. Check in the advanced ram setting. Geardown mode. If disable, set to enable. Geardown allows odd timings for amd CPUs.

Ryzen 7 5800x with Aorus B550i Pro AX here, CL16 RAM @ 3600Mhz XMP. Since I flashed bios F12 I got two bluescreens with the following errors:

- UNEXPECTE_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP
- KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE

I went back to F11 now... :(

Found a weird bug in F33a where suddenly write to memory performance was suddenly cut in half, as if my processor had only one CCD.
I had to go into the bios, load the optimized defaults and dial all the memory timings again for thing to return to normal.

thank you dear friend. you was right. i had geardown enabled and xmp runs at 3600 18-19-19-39-83-CR 1T when i disabled this option XMP runs at specified 17-19-19-39-85 but CR 2T. After perfomance test i chose geardown to be enabled (as it was before). CR 1T is better. And as it written geardown makes system to be more stable. hope it's true
