My Z87X-OC had lots of problems with 4 DIMMs on F4 and F5 BIOS. Only raising DIMM voltage and memory controller voltage manually would stop the blue screens.

After I installed a F7 beta BIOS I tried the default settings and 'magically' the 4 DIMMs are stable out of the box without any manual tuning. The 1866 XMP profile is also stable.

Good and deducated RAM for 4th Generation Intel Core Processors...as I know...no problem.

At least initial BIOS versions had tons of problems with 4 DIMMS. I must have responded to at least 10 threads on different boards. Funny that u say that u don't know of any problems.

First of all,read carefully....for his board still don't have new BIOS.
Second,I still stay with my words.....just look who complain and with which RAM.
Personaly,I don't have any problem from begging.....because I set manually and with adjustment secondary and tertiary setting in BIOS.

Alderick didn't say anything his board or his BIOS version. He was only talking about the 4 DIMM issue. I am assuming that he is talking about the Z87 or H87 line of boards.

But u said that u don't know anything about 4 DIMMs being an issue. You didn't say that it only was your personal experience. Since you are so active here and on other Gigabyte related forums I would expect that you are aware about the numerous complains related to 4 DIMMs and Z87 chipset boards.

How can you find out the more in-depth timings for RAM? I can obviously find 9-9-9-24 but the Secondary and Tertiary timings are much more difficult to find, I have left all of the timings at what the board sets them at :) (8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz CL9)

Had some news from gigabyte support ....concerning x79 ...new cpu series ie, 4820k etc ...and cpu frequency not being correct in windows 8.1 system properties, the engineers currently think its an issue between the cpu and the OS ...other brands of motherboards have been tested with the same outcome ....wrong cpu frequency when overclocking ....I don't know about default has ive not had my cpu at default since purchase ...anyway there you go ...it seems its windows 8.1 so far.

Had some news from gigabyte support ....concerning x79 ...new cpu series ie, 4820k etc ...and cpu frequency not being correct in windows 8.1 system properties, the engineers currently think its an issue between the cpu and the OS ...other brands of motherboards have been tested with the same outcome ....wrong cpu frequency when overclocking ....I don't know about default has ive not had my cpu at default since purchase ...anyway there you go ...it seems its windows 8.1 so far.

To boost this theory,
running on Win 7 my setting is rock stable,change to Win 8.1...very often I get BSOD.

honestly speaking MS Win 8.1 is total crap.. I was laughting myself out of the doorway to work when I first did see someone posting on web that "AMD cards performs better in Windows 8.1". I mean seriously considerin' Windows Vista for starters we used around 6-8 hours of work to strip Windows to it's knees, we came to Windows 7 we only had about 4 hours work to get rid of Microsoft idioticy and now we are looking at Windows 8/8.1 first of they added at leats 5-6 new idiotic applications like Windows Store, all sort of online M$ storage spaces and absolutely idiotic lock to START not to mention that when you finally get to desktop and finally actually recognize that it actually is not XBOX or your nokia phone you are running start ripping registry, gpeditors and not to even mention MS lovely new way of using Task Scheduler as primary launch for any Information delivery for Microsoft that returns us quite damn fast back to 6-8 hours work before you even consider connecting an Computer with Windows Operating System to Network and start considering what drivers you need, force driver signing thru the system or in worst case installing with EFI you realize that holy crap you have to reinstall it all just to not to ever see UEFI again.

I can only assume because of so low response from people most of windows installing people die before they get all the above done because of low response on Network to MS to get rid of their crap. Specially the really bad shape nerd's moving to Linux.

Back to topic:
Now as for BSOD's of this system:
1. Might wanna start troubleshoot issue with 1333Mhz high latency memory settings. If you can losen up system setup at BIOS, so much you can be 100% sure that hardware itself ain't failing it's good start.
2. Would start looking from CPU features more specifically Virtualization Features of Windows 8.1 (this is near only feature added in Win8.1 against Win7). They are forced backbone at the system no matter do you choose Hyper-V or now. Noticed 9/10 BSOD's I had is because idiotic background working Hyper-V. Also, you wanna test does the CxE functionality actually work correctly (first of does the hardware keep up to it when Windows uses them).
3. To identify a singular device being an issue query them 1-by-1 software like HWINFO, AIDA64 like example USB issue above mentioned could be tested by query port then adding device to port and query hardware information with either of tools mentioned, if that causes BSOD well could use newer older module.
4. If all else fails there's always hammer, DBAN and Arch Linux. :)

Wrote above simply because what you are desc'ing there doesn't sound like USB issue.

Does anyone know why there is still no new BIOS for Gigabyte Z87MX-D3H? New BIOS for Z87X-D3H (F8) is available. Old F5 is very unstable with Haswell and XMP ram profiles.

Wow, fast :) Thank You. I have Corsair Vengeance LP (CML8GX3M2A1600C9W XMP1.35V), should be working 1600 1.5V ,but after loading Win8.1 system is unstable. MemTest with no errors. I will try F6 BIOS now.

Try the program "Thaiphoon Burner". It has a demo version. It can show the complete XMP timings and does this in number of clock ticks instead of nanoseconds like other programs, so exactly what you need for manually setting secondary timings in the BIOS (and there are no tertiary timings in the XMP profile).

I noticed this right away when I got my GA-Z77X-UD5H board in regards to overclocking on Windows 8/8.1, at first it would display properly then disappeared after I finished tweaking my OC, I discovered the BIOS option responsible for this.

The CPU EIST function being disabled makes the system properties not display the correct CPU frequency however, upon using this to get the correct information displayed it then offsets the CPU clock rate inside the Task Manager's CPU area thinking its running 900MHz faster and fluctuates higher (perhaps the bug is it thinks the OC is the base and the increase is it thinking the turbo boost would make it go that high? even though its not)

Well i know the xmp profiles for my tridentX 2400mhz do not work properly with the bios. Also if u disable XHCI, Some of the usb 3.0 options disappear from the bios when re-enabled. It will only come back if i clear cmos. Also I am sure they could tweak some stuff for windows 8.1. Also i notice if i put some voltage settings from auto to normal, they are way off from being default. Also when the DRAM voltage is left on auto, it fluctuates by 0.12V. It would just be nice if they would release a final version.

EDIT: Also the mouse is really buggy in the UEFI environment. Its almost unusable! I have tested 3 different mice and they get the same laggy sluggish feel.
