Hi, for the next Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5 beta bios release, can you fix the bus clock bug? It currently still persists on the F14b bios. It's the same bug as the UD3 board where if you use a 125MHz bus clock (1.25 x 100), the multiplier cannot be changed and is stuck at 28x whereas you can use the Turbo multis to enable multis up to 43x usually for the board (using my i7 3820) on older bioses. Whenever I set the bus clock multi to 1.25x, the CPU/Turbo multiplier maximum becomes 28x and will not budge (no overclocking possible) regardless of what number I set for the turbo/cpu multi.

It was previously described with a UD3 board by another member:

"Also, but not so important, when you use 125Mhz Bus Clock (100x1.25) there is no way to change the multiplier. On F12/F14 BIOS you could use the Turbo multis enabling Turbo, up to 43x, or use the dafault multis with Turbo disabled up to 38 (or 39, I don't remember). Now, when the clock is set to 125Mhz with or without turbo I can't get past 28x. The BIOS shows up to 43x but it doesn't apply no matter what."

When did that start? I was using 125x37 on my UD5/3820 for most of the time since Feb. 2012 and never saw such a problem aside from the very old problem that BCLK 125 could not be easily enabled. Currently I am at F14b...I'm inclined to give it a shot tho.

On a side note, if this should be correct, we most likely won't be able to fix it. What we mostly do is replacing option ROMs and microcodes, but no binary-level reverse engineering...

F18 bios for GA-X79-UD3 is a miss. Computer boots to bios most of the time, instead of booting to windows, and I'm getting a wierd input bug... too bad, overclocking is a bit more stable with F18.

Hello, i have a GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 motherboard with a core i5 2500k and a 560 ti, my bios version if F13 and its the last award version, and there is a also a uefi bios with version U1D, i was wondering if there could be a better version somewhere else? Couldnt find it in OP post, otherwise is the version U1D working properly for this mobo?

If it wont work well, can i go back to F13?

Alright so i couldnt manage to flash it with the guide on OP.

Heres what i did.

I took my usb stick and formated it with HP usb disk format tool, made it FAT32, quick format and created a dos startup disk with the boot file [USB-Boot] on a folder, when it was formated, i took the 3 files that was on my bios zip (autoexec, flashefi and Z68AD3H.U1D) but i dont have any kind of Flash895.exe, and .Fxx Bios, so i restarted computer and selected the usb stick, it booted on Windows 98, and i tried to type autoexec, flashefi but it only say Bad or invalid command.

What should i do?

Using X79S-UP5 rev 1.0 with f5a bios.

I read that there was a problem with USB3.0 on F5c bios.

If that is correct, is there any such problem with f5b bios and is anyone using it without any problems? Would you recommend an update from f5a to f5b?

Cool ive just managed to flash it, when it was flashed i holded the power button to stop it and unpluged it for a few second, replug and start it and go to bios setting, selected default setting and found a setting on "Other OS", changed it to "windows 8", but there was also "Windows 8 WHQL", Should it change it to Windows 8 WHQL?

Though i have a problem, before the flash my cpu was OC to 3.7ghz, stock is 3.3ghz (i5 2500k), system panel on windows still show 3.7ghz, but on bios setup it show 33x (3.3ghz) and i cant change it, i press enter on it and nothing happen, is there a way to unlock it?

Also my GPU now idle at 50c instead of about 30... And the usage is still at 0-1%, on load (battlefield 4) it runs hotter by 5-8 degree degree, while its 20 extra degree on idle. Is it a known issue or there is something to do about it?

But anyway its working for now, ill test some game and see if i get BSOD or something.

Are you familiar with using the number pad arrow keys to change multipliers up or down or typing them in? It sounds like that might be the answer for what you're talking about with pressing the enter button and nothing happens. Not for sure if that was your question though.

Also ive made a cmos reset and changed Os to Windows 8 WHQL. I also noticed that my may get to 30c, when the voltage is 0.950, then somehow it goes to 1.062 then reach 50c, and wont go back to 0.950 untill i reboot, then back to 1.062 when i open internet or something.

I also tried to flash the video card bios wich is a gigabyte gtx 560ti, my gpu bios version is F13, i downloaded the bios wich come with everything needed plus flash program, but when i try to flash, it fail and an error pop saying that BIOS is not match for your card. The instruction say that i have to set BIOS to Back up mode otherwise it wont work, i checked in the BIOS setup but ive never found any kind of backup mode, anyone know how i can do that?

And yeah, i had to use num + - to control it.

Try loading Windows. I don't have my PC running right now, I'm waiting for a 4820K. But If I'm not mistaken the BIOS always showed the right clock, but it didn't apply. CPU-Z was stuck at 28x (and it wasn't a CPU-Z issue, 'cause of the observed performance).
